a couple of weeks ago, my vagina was itchy. after putting on some medication, it hasn't itched since. today i noticed my discharge was white, not the usual clear discharge, and it smelled normal. is it possible that i have a yeast infection? i'm not sexually active.

it seems to b yeast infection..the symptoms of yeast infection are:itching, white cheesy discharge with no odor.
it normally resolve if u do certain interventions urself
1.dont wear nylon underwear..only 100% cotton bec other materials increase the itching
2.when u wash ur vagina or after bath make sure u dry it with a small towel very well.dont use tissues
3.try to wear skirts...dont wear tight jeans or pantalon bec it increases the humidity which increase the infection
4whenever u feel u r sweating or feeling hot go wash ur vagina and dry well
these intervention must relieve u or even cure the infection but anyway they will make u wait for ur appiontment with the doctor
good luck and dont worry

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:
https://bitly.im/aMBg1
Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Yes it sounds like you have a yeast infection honey. And you dont need to be sexually active to get one either. I would tell you to first call back your gyn/ clinic and ask to have an earlier appointment. If that does'nt work ask to be called if there are any cancellations.(Alot of offices would be glad to do this). In the mean time while you are calling the doctor and have them on the line ask to spek with tje nurse explainging all your symptoms and how long it has been occuring(dont be embarassed they hear this stuff all day every day) and ask her advice as to what you could do prior to your appointment such as over the counter creams or sprays. Try for now to wear cotton panties these allow your genital area to "breathe" also stear clear of soaps with fragrance like bath and body etc use antibacterial soap instead some time the fragrance in the soap can trigger a problem. Also wear loose clothing as i said your genital area needs to breathe and if you have tight clothing on and start to sweat you will make the problem worse. Call yor doctor today for appointment change.

i think the discharge is the actual infection working its way out of your body, once you get to that stage, it won't really itch, it's just an after-effect. the itching is the precursor to the discharge. it seems that every time we women are given an antibiotic we develop a yeast infection. if that's your case, then that's your answer. if you haven't taken any antibiotics lately, then you could have just developed it from some virus that you picked up somewhere, and it's your body's reaction to that. have you talked with a doctor? you really should if the discharge persists after more than a week.

You can get a yeast infection without being sexually active....it can come from wearing to tight clothes...wearing a wet bathing suit for too long....stuff like that....it is quite possible you have one so just to be sure go to the store and get some monistat its over the counter medicine that will kill it...you can get Monistat 1...its works in one day instead of the normal 7 days but it cost like 14 bucks.

Yes it is possible. I have had a yeast infection before and found out about it two weeks later (2 weeks after my pap smear, I called to get my results. My doctor said that it was normal, but that I had a yeast infection.)

White discharge without odor is probably a yeast infection. Women can get yeast infections without being sexually active.

You should go to your doctor. Yes, it itches and is annoying, the discharge is usually a sticky white goop. It can smell, but each woman is different. You don't have to be sexually active to get one, some ladies can get them just by being in a situation like, camping near a lake, one lives in the bathing suit, and [I am not trying to be gross, just factual] due to poorer hygiene, will get one. Not always. You could try the over-the-counter Monistat-7. If it doesn't help per directions, then please see your doc, like I said.
