my boyfriend (type 1) accidentally peed in his sleep because he forgot to take his shot and now is paranoid when i sleep over. He finds it almost impossible to sleep.
When it happened i jumped out of bed and showered/cleaned sheets but I wasn't upset - i know it can happen if he forgets his insulin (this is the first time since i've known him).
how can i make him know that i understand and that i don't care - not like he did it on purpose.

Oh we're both in our early 20's and this is the first time he's done that with someone in the bed, he said he's only done it maybe 3 times max when he was young and forgot his shots more often

Confide in him some situation which embarrassed you at some point. Not sure what else will work except empathy with his incident. The human body can do some unpredictable things when you least want it to. I doubt reminding him about his insulin each night is a good solution unless he asks you to.

My boyfriend peed the bed and it wasn't because of a medical reason unless you can count Pissy Drunk as a diagnosis. I would suggest letting him know that you have embarrassing things that you do sometimes that you can't help. Try farting a really loud one. Tell him you think you **** yourself! That might make him feel better about a little pee.

Also I would go stock up on sheets.

Show him this post....It happens to me all the time. It's not a big deal. It's just irrational conditioning from growing up that makes you embarrassed. It's harmless and some people even like it. Urine is sterile unless you have an infection. Hope something helps from someones post here. Again, it's not a big deal.

I think he is too embarrassed to come over. Give him some time. If he doesn't want to see you again then that means he would rather forget you and the whole incident. Good luck.

You know what, i think that you should make him sleep over and when he falls asleep next to you, pee the bed. Be like omg i can't believe i did that :D then act all embaressed and then it will be equal, happily ever after.

Tell him that lots of funny things happen to our bodies when we are sick. You would accept him in sickness and in health if you married him, so give him comfort and tell him you don't think anything by it. Accepting our bodies is part of growing up. Tell him, wait til you hit 40...it's all down hill!

Knowledge empowers a person, maybe give him some additional information, and tell him it's okay, he's not the first person to have done that. =)

Just talk to him about it. tell him how you feel. If you are in a relationship with him, he should be able to talk it out with you.
