No this may upset the other customers.

If you live in England there are plans to start making chlamydia tests available over the counter where you post a sample of urine to a central test centre, but this is not available yet.

If you are genuinely concerned that you may have an STI then you should go to the nearest genitourinary medicine clinic (GUM clinic). if you look in the phone book or on the NHS website then they should tell you where you nearest one is. The good thing about going to these places is that your records are highly confidential and they don't even tell your GP that you've been so if you want to keep it quiet that you've been there then they'll help. Another new thing they have started doing is sending your test results by text message so you don't have to go back for them.

The other important thing to consider is that STI's are rarely found on their own, usually people have at least two, if not more infections at the same time but they can all be tested for at the GUM clinic. In the vast majority of cases these infections can be treated with a simple course of antibiotics and they completely resolve, but if left untreated then they can cause long term health problems including infertility. In other words if your in any doubt then get checked out, you won't regret it.

if it's chlamydia you are worried about you can buy a self test kit at the chemist, if not you can go to a GUM clinic. Everything is confidential.

Please visit nearest GUM (genito urinary medicine) clinic. It is free. They will test you for all STD's and its completely confidential, they don't use your name on the forms or samples taken, your giving a code, so no-one will find out that you have been tested.
Please see the webpages for more details on STD.

No, you have to go to a special std clinic usually attached to a hospital. Dont worry its quite anonymous, you go in, pick up a number(you dont have to say your name) hand it in to reception, then get seen by a nurse.

No, go to a GUM clinic. You don't give your name or anything, no one will know who you are.
