Have you tried detoxing and was it good ...or do you think the whole detox idea is a con based on shoddy science?

There is no need to 'detox' if you are already eating a reasonably healthy vegetarian based diet, drinking enough water, and exercising 30plus Min's a day! You body is more than capable of ridding the system of harmful toxins in the food you eat/drink or via lungs/skin. People who don't have these main categories in place will feel a significant difference to their well being if they adopt them as part of a lifestyle change. I think the rest is more to do with psychology. However..there is some scientific evidence that suggests that 'fasting' or having a liquid 24/48 hours gives the digestive system a rest/clean out which makes it more efficient.

Detoxing is a falicy!!

Pseudo T.V. doctors, food supplements & healthy eating packets of seeds is just prepacked, money making rubbish.

Your body DOES NOT store up toxins. We naturally get rid of byproducts as we sweat, deficate & urinate, our bodies work perfectly well on a balanced diet & a reasonable amount of fluids.

You CANNOT detoxify by popping some 'super pills'. It is the absence of the rubbish that makes you function better!!

Just think back on the progression of 'detox fads':

Detox (known scam - even Boots revealed there is no evidence they work!), pro-biotics - only of any benefit IF you suffer from digestive tract problems - maybe only 10% of the consumers will actually benefit, everybody else is just buying expensive yoghurt (scam), Omega 3 - it's getting added into everything! - SCAM, it's naturally occuring in many of the foods we eat on a day to day basis.

How is it that for 1000'S of years we have survived & flourished without pro-biotics & Omega 3, never needed a colonic or a monthly detox. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Your body will detox itself in about 72 hours as long as you eat well and drink plenty of water.

The concept of drinking a $30.00 juice to detox your body is a sham.

I tend to do a detox day about once a month, where all I drink is water, and I only eat fresh fruit and raw vegatables. It makes me feel great!!

It seems to have been popular for a long time (out done "Atkins", & Maple Syrup diets!).
It can't do much harm to cleanse the system and eat/ drink only natural products.
I am not strong willed enought to try it!

Its a gimmick. Just drink plenty of fresh water & eat simple fruit such as apples & pears.
