the endometriosis tissue looks just like lung tissue to the x-ray

you can sometimes see its effect if it causes bleeding between the lung and the chest wall, or a pneumothorax (air between the lung and the chest wall) - eg in catamenial pneumothorax

Although the x-ray will be "normal" more often than not, it *sometimes* can detect it...case in point: from Pneumonol Alergol Pol. 1998;66(3-4):226-8 [Endometriosis of the lung diagnosed with videothoracoscopy]: authors note the "case of non-symptomatic pulmonary Endometriosis appearing as multiple nodules on chest X ray and chest CT scan." The diagnosis was re-confirmed upon thoracoscopy with lung sampling and histopathologic evidence. Also, x-ray can be helpful in terms of finding a catamenial pneumothorax. Of course, nothing is considered certain until histology confirms.

Since endometriosis is the growth of tissue outside of its normal area of growth, it should show on and x-ray of the chest. Remember that when an x-ray is taken, the bones stand out because of their density. Organs and tissues are not as dense and cannot easily be seen without the addition of contrast media, so a radiologist would need to read the pictures. Then, they may still wish to do something like a CAT scan to differentiate exactly what the tissue consists of.

Most ct scans and evn a good x-ray will detect abnormallities in the lungs, a ct is the better method however. I`ve recently been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis of the Lungs and have been kind of stressing over some of the images my x-rays revealed. Last week I had a ct of the lungs and will have them explained to me on the 28 of Sept. Endo- is a scarring type of issue as far as I know and should be detected on good x-rays.as striations or cloudy looking areas in the lobes of the lungs.

You really need to read "Endometriosis Bible & Violet Protocol" by Zoe Brown (also available in electronic format here: http://www.endometriosisbible.info ). It's about how to eradicate endometriosis disease forever. It worked for me, you will see results in only a matter of weeks. Good Luck!
