WOW! This is definitely a challenge! I would have to say Italian because of my descent and Chinese because of their bold flavors and healthy ingredients however, I enjoy all ethnic cooking in general. I suppose it's the variety that speaks loudest.
My favorite dishes are Veal Parmasean, Lasagna, Beef with Broccoli, and the various Lo Meins.

I love Mexican food the best, but also Italian and there's nothing better than a Greek pita bread sandwich that's made well with grilled chicken, Greek olives, feta cheese, the cucumber sauce they make, mmmm. I make my own tortillas, so for me, a couple of fragrant just made flour tortillas and a simple bowl of pinto beans with a jalapeno pepper is heaven. Brings back memories of coming home from school and smelling the tortillas mom was making, a half-block away!

I am an Anglo-Saxon descended, native Canadian, who lives in Mexico: My favorite "ethnic" food would be:

1. Indian: Rogan Joosh in the Moglai style - Authentic Goan Pork Vindaloo - Punjabi-style Chicken Tandoori
2. Mexican: Northern-style "Arrachera" steak on the grill with "chimichuri" sauce - Camarones Gigantes al Mojo de Ajo (Prawns cooked in garlic and butter with lemon) - Cochinita Pibil (Pork slices, slow cooked in a sauce of garlic and Yucatan "achiote" spice.)
3. Italian: Lasagna! - Pizza! - Prawns and Scallops in Pesto sauce!
4. American: - Slow-barbecued baby back ribs, - The famous Philadelphia cheesesteak! - Any really good cut of steak marinated and grilled to perfection in the "American way"
5. England: - Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding, - English style Fish and Chips, - Shepard's Pie

How's that?

From my email address, you can guess my answer is Polish. Unless you have tried meat-filled pierogi in ruby red beet borshcht, you have not lived. Also, cabbage rolls filled with lean ground beef and rice and swimming in a rich tomato sauce - WOW. Then, of course, there is always Czarnina (pronounced Chardnina) - this is a soup made from spare ribs and fruit and thickened with 1/2 cup duck's blood & flour. YUMMMMM!

It was a birthday celebration for the grandson of of one of my friends dear friends...they had an incredible spread but what was even more enjoyable, the company and warmth...a day to remember and a great honor.
