It could make him worse if you do not clean up the hair.

As you probably know COPD is caused in the majority of cases by smoking, it is Asthma that has a allergic component. Unless your Dad has a history of allergy to animal hair your kitten won't affect him. Enjoy having your dad stay, watch the kitten doesn't tear up the house, they have a habit of doing that (first hand experience). Hope this helps

My mum had COPD too. She moved in with me 4 years before she died. I had two long haired dogs and we worked things out this way. My dogs were not allowed in her bedroom wher she kept her nebuliser and oxygen tank. I bought cotton overalls that we would (My children and i) Put on when we walked into her bedroom to protect mum from anything (Mostly hair we might be covered with why we realised it or not. I kept the hallways leading from her bedroom to the gathroom and sitting room bare! Got the floor tiled so i could hoover and wash (Bleach) Daily. I also put ionisers and brushed my dogs oustide the living area. I also got them groomed once a month. Now i do know you have a kitten and it could be that your father might be allergic to pet hair in which case you can follow simple little routines as i did.
I'd like to add that my mum found the dogs most therapeutic because she enjoyed patting them when sitting with us. She didn't sit for very long but always enjoyed watching them playing with their toys.
I'm sory to hear your father has this dreadful disease. My mum died 6 years ago and i miss her terribly. I cherish my time with her so make the most of your time with your dad!

It most certainly is safe for him. I am a RN and my mother had COPD and lived with us for 12 years. She actually bought a dog and it used to sleep with her, granted it was a poodle that didn't shed.
The big thing is ...does he have an allergy to cats...that would trigger his asthma.
COPD means you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The criteria for this are chronic bronchitis, asthma and emphysema.
The things that bothered my mom the most were perfumes and some fragrant flowers. I hate to say this but she continued to smoke till she died.......my family could never understand that but it made her happy and as far as I was concerned the damage was done, quitting smoking wouldn't have helped her much.

The danger of cats to people with pulmonary disease, which does not apply to dogs is either histoplasmosis or toxoplasmosis, one is associated with cats and the other with birds and I keep forgetting which is which, both are fungus infections which can be rapidly fatal in people with pulmonary problems. If you keep the litter box clean, and the kitten does not leave droppings anywhere else your father may be reasonably safe.

Ouija boards are for the spiritually ignorant to get negative energy/entity attachments that can deflect or ruin your life. Largely with little awareness on your part of their attachment. Don't do it, period, asking for trouble. Only people that don't understand things use one, and those are the exact people negatives are looking to entrap. It's a trap.

I don't think kitty would bother dad, but cigarette smoke is an absolute no no. Have a good time and enjoy him every day he is with you.
