Viruses cause colds. It sounds like you have an allergy situation going on there. Check it out with your doc.

Air conditioners are great with keeping the temperature cool in the house/room, but if the filters aren't cleaned, then they can't do their job and remove allergens in the air. Cold air evaporates moisture in the air, which may be the reason why you're waking up feeling congested and wheezy. Check to see if you have a temperature control setting on your system. That way if it gets too cold, the system will turn itself off (and if it gets too warm, it'll turn back on). If your system doesn't have this, maybe you should consider putting in a ceiling fan instead. Good luck! :)

OK. First things first - turn off the air conditioning, or set it so it's NORMAL for youl Viruses cause colds, germs cause infections, and neither of them are 'caused' by air conditioning or cold. BUT, if you have a lowered immune system, you can get sick more easily, than someone who is stronger (in the immune sense).
I got the flu every single year. But when I started taking Echinnacea when I knew I was exposed to colds or flu, I haven't had the flu in 3 years. Two capsules ( must be STANDARDIZED) 3 times a day for 14 days to build up immunity if you are exposed.
If you become sick, start taking it at once, but only until you are well. Studies have not found it any more effective taken longer than two weeks. It is, along with other natural medicines I use, so much better than Rx. And don't count on your doctor to encourage your use of herbs. He doesn't make any money on it. But you SAVE!!

Check to see if the filter on your air conditioner needs cleaning. Headcolds are caused by a virus and I'm pretty sure a virus can't live in cold temperatures

No. in fact, it grew to become into the chilly of the Arctic that saved lots of undesirable ailments from the Americas formerly Columbus. chilly kills germs (or a minimum of hinders their unfold). the reason that flu and different maladies ensue in chilly months is that whimps ensue the warmth interior the place the germs incubate. Then those comparable people take their germs and get them everywhere in the procuring cart handles on the food market, for the subsequent person to settlement. people could be leaving their properties cool in autumn and wintry climate and purely donning somewhat extra clothing than different seasons. Too, they could spend extra time outdoors, so any germs they have will bite the dirt.

There may be some mold in your A/C that you're allergic to. Have it cleaned.
