You can get STDs from oral sex. HOWEVER, it is unlikely that anyone giving oral sex to a woman would ever get gonorrhea, chlamydia or HIV. You could get syphilis, and herpes this way though. If you are a woman receiving oral sex, you could get syphilis, and herpes. Nothing else. Not HIV.

Anyone giving oral sex to a man has a greater chance of getting an STD than anyone giving oral sex to a woman. Enzymes in our mouths kill many bacteria. Our throats are a different issue. Giving oral sex to a man can put you at risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes and syphilis. If you are a man receiving oral sex, you are primarily at risk for syphilis and herpes.

There have been no documented cases of HIV transmission through oral sex on women. Period. Doesnt mean it couldnt happen though, especially if the woman is bleeding and the partner giving oral sex has just flossed, or has some sort of open sore in his/her mouth.

EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING SEX SHOULD HAVE AN ANNUAL STD TEST- FOR ALL KNOWN STDS.

Contractible Diseases

Yes, absolutely!

ANY of the viruses can be transmitted to the giver or reciever due to viral shedding.

Example: If someone has a cold-sore, a/k/a oral herpes, they can pass it on to someone's genitals... then the reciever would have oral herpes "down there". The opposite is also true.

There are also STIs that can be transmitted through oral sex.

It's always a good idea to do a visual inspection first! If you engage in a ONS (One Night Stand) use protection, a condom (for him) and dental dam (for her).
