This is sooo simple, you are going to dance with excitement!

You need a can of chick peas, a small jar of Tahini (sesame seed paste), 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 cloves of freshly smashed & chopped garlic, 3 tablespoons freshly chopped Cilantro, salt, freshly cracked pepper and a bit of lemon juice.

In a blender, pour a drained can of chick peas. Blend on medium. While blending, add oil and SLOWLY add Tahini in a thin stream until chick peas have the consistency of thick muffin batter. Stop mixing!

Pour into a mixing bowl. Add chopped garlic, chopped cilantro, salt to taste, cracked pepper to taste, and the juice of 1/4 lemon. Mix well and let sit, covered, for 1 hour.

Adjust thickness by adding more Tahini and lemon juice if necessary. Also, add more salt, or pepper if desired.

Enjoy!

Good Luck!

This recipe is soooo good!!!

1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup olive oil, plus 4 tablespoons
1/4 cup (loosely packed) fresh Italian parsley leaves
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
6 pitas
1 teaspoon dried oregano

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the beans, garlic, lemon juice, 1/3 cup olive oil, and parsley in the work bowl of a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely chopped. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Transfer the bean puree to a small bowl.

Cut each pita in half and then into 8 wedges. Arrange the pita wedges on a large baking sheet. Pour the remaining oil over the pitas. Toss and spread out the wedges evenly. Sprinkle with the oregano, salt, and pepper. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until toasted and golden in color.

Serve the pita toasts warm or at room temperature alongside the bean puree.

Hey Kake,

It's so simple! (And my favorite)

No. 12 can of Garbanzo beans, Drained
2-3 Oz of Fresh Lemon Juice.
Few Cloves of Garlic, peeled.
3-4 oz. of Tahini paste (Also called Sesame paste)
Olive Oil.
Pepper.

(Paprika and Fresh Parsley to garnish.)

In a food processor (You can use a blender, but it will take a long time. You can use a potato masher too).
Blend the Garbanzo beans with 1/2 the lemon juice and 1/2 the tahini paste and an oz or two of olive oil. TASTE. Add the remaining lemon juice, olive oil, tahini and garlic to taste. Top with pepper, blend and taste again.

Top with additional olive oil, paprika sprinkles and parsley.

This is a version from the Food Network:

HUMMUS by Ina Garten:

4 garlic cloves
2 cups canned chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
2 tablespoons water or liquid from the chickpeas
8 dashes hot sauce

Turn on the food processor fitted with the steel blade and drop the garlic down the feed tube; process until it's minced. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed. Taste, for seasoning, and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Hommos (Humus) is made of chickpeas
1 kg chickpeas
You soak the chickpeas overnight in water, add bicarbonate of soda
Next day strain and add in pot of cold water, add the chickpeas and boil till soft, strain.

Next let it cool.

Put in blender, mash till soft.

Add Tahine sauce to taste, add about 2 tablespoons and add more if needed.

Squeeze 1-2 lemons according to taste.

Add salt to taste (stir)

Till creamy texture.

Now prepare a large serving plate.

Add the ready mixture in the plate, stir it in circular motion.

In the middle pour olive oil as much as you like.

Garnish with sliced tomatoes on the side, you may sprinkle with
red hot chilly powder if you like or leave it as it is.

Eat with Lebanese bread or Pita bread whatever is available,
I prefer the Pita bread.

Enjoy

A blender and chick peas (you can use any bean). That's the most simple one.
Throw in what ever you like.
50-50 with butter is really niice. Sounds fatty but if you use real butter it is just the greatest. Don't spare the salt.
