I have had sexual contact with someone who has HPV, and I didn't find out until later. We used condoms, but due to the nature of how it spreads I'm not exactly confident with that alone. I've shown no signs of HPV, but if I'm a carrier I would sure like to know it. Is there a blood test, or any other test I can take to determine my HPV status?

No, unfortunately there is no test for men. Usually men find out they have HPV by developing warts. This can take months and even years sometimes, and obviously only happens if you carry a kind of HPV that causes warts. Men can also find out by their faithful girlfriends or wife developing HPV.

In your situation, it sounds like the only way you'll find out is if you develop warts.

I discovered I got it from my boyfriend when I had an abnormal pap smear. There were pre-cancerous cells on my cervix that the Dr had to remove with a LEEP procedure (taking a cone shaped piece out of my cervix with an electric wire). HPV causes cervical cancer in women. So then my boyfriend went to the county health department for a test. He didn't have any bumps or anything. But a doctor wrapped his genitals with a gauze of some kind of solution and it caused the warts to show up as a white color. It turns out he had them all over but they were flat and looked and felt just like regular skin. Wierd. By the way, thank you for being responsible and caring enough to use condoms and check further into this.

NO, there isn't a test to detect HPV in men without visible symptoms (warts).

HPV is not a virus that is blood borne. The virus resides in infected tissue.

The previous responder explained her boyfriend went to the doctor and he wrapped his penis in a solution that made them turn white. This was a vinegar solution. HOWEVER, this is highly inaccurate and will not always work. Vinegar will make normal tissue also turn white, this is why the test is not used by reputable physicians.

Not sure if they test differently for men and women.I asked the doc. once for a test and she said they normally test a culture so if you don't have an out break then there's no way to tell.

My doctor told me that they can take a swab of the inside of the urethra to test for it, but I don´t think it is a 100% reliable test.
