I don't know what has caused the pain but to help it heal I would:

Eat some potassium (Bananas have a lot of this).

Wrap it tightly with an ace bandage. (This will give it support and allow it to heal)

If it's not better in two weeks, I would go see a doctor.

This could be something as simple as a strained muscle, or as serious as a blood clot (deep vein thrombosis). Look for symptoms of DVT such as swelling, heat to the area, redness, and hurting worse when you walk (called intermittant claudication). Either way, depending on you age and health, I would certainly get it checked by a physician. Good Luck!!

if you haven't walked in a while with one leg more than the other, then that might have caused it.

Seriously, use cold packs (if you think it was an injury) and the sore/hurt will go away. Actually it's probably some gas built up in the muscle and you can just deep pressure rub it away.

That is a symptom of Calcium deficiency. Drink more milk, or try calcium supplements.
