the patient is having a bp of 200/100 and takes catapres75mg. Then the patient was injected in less than 30 munites of dipenhydramine(benadryl) because she"s having a chill. what is the possible effect of drug having injected not more than 30 minutes taking a catpres 75mg?

As in the earlier answer, sleepy is the thing you'll see and with a bp that high, relaxing a bit would be a good thing. The combination will probably work well. I would check bp's frequently after giving meds like that though. Keep your assessment onging and frequent until you know how it effects the pt.

From what I read, Benadryl will add to the sedation side effect already found in the antihypertensive medication clonidine. It probably won't hurt them, it will just make them a bit more drowsy than if they had taken the clonidine alone. If you are concerned, you can always ask the charge nurse or doctor (I'm assuming the patient is in the hospital due to the fact that the Benadryl was given by injection).
