Take me to bed with a tub of whipped cream.
But don't talk with your mouth full.

Go to a Japanese resturant. Eat at the hibachi or sushi bar. That way if the conversation is slow- you can at least discuss what's going on in front of you. And the ambience is generally not to overly romantic which can be annoying when you are still getting to know someone. Plus no garlic breath or that sleepy full feeling you get after eating Italian or French cusine.
Order a saki bomb for an interesting night...

Well, I don't know where you live, but I looooove the Cheesecake Factory. Not those crappy places in the mall. The real Cheesecake factory. Your mouth will explode! And the atmosphere is laid back, but romantic. Also, I included the link so you can find out if one is near you...

Somewhere romantic, good food, nice atmosphere. Find out what food he likes and suprise him. Nowhere too noisy otherwise you will end up listening to the music rather than each other. Good luck and enjoy

Your kitchen. Plan to have him over about 30 min. before you're done cooking so he can help... you'll also be able to tell what kind of guy he is, if he brings wine, helps you in the kitchen... anyhow, good luck and congrats with the new guy

Don't you have a favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant that's semi-quiet? Take him there! Extoll the virtues of the place and why you like it! Everyone has their favorite little place. Doesn't have to be fancy. I introduced my husband to a little Mexican place he'd never been to. He loves it now.
