Depends on the delivery place......heres some examples:: Cici's Pizza::12", 1 slice w/ perpperoni=34 crbs
Dominos:: 14"Deep Dish, 1 slice w pepperoni=41 carbs
Hungry Howies::(L) 1 slice w pepperoni 26 crbs
LIttle Ceasars:: (L 16") 1 slice w pepperoni=27 crbs
Papa Johns:: 14", 1 slice w pepperoni 38 crbs
Pizza hut::Pan Pizza w pepperoni=29 crbs
So as you can see basically there is about 30 crbs a piece, also you have to remember that deep dish or pizza w a lot of crust/bread wil be higher....also Im not sure if you take infections or are on a pump but pizza is a slower breaking down food so you may want to give yourself 1/2 the amount of insulin you need before you eat & half w/in an hour to break down the fats & other slower to digest parts of the pizza....good luck & if you need to talk or have any questions Ivebeen diabetic for 19 years so Im pretty knowledgable(sp)

If you order from a national chain, like Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, etc. go on their website and look up their nutrition info. Most large chain restaurants have that info online.

If you order from a local pizzaria start by going to the national chain restaurant whose pizza most closely matches your local chain in crust type (thin or thick), toppings, and size (large NY style pizza slice, or small Pizza Hut medium size) and try to estimate.

For me, I have found that 2 slices of a large Pizza Hut pizza or 1 slice of a NY pizza are all I can eat (that works out to be 35 to 50 carbs total per serving). To be honest, if I am really hungry for dinner I refuse to eat pizza because the small serving size for the high carbs does not make it very filling for me.

pizaa hut and domino's both list carb facts under nutrition for everything they sell.

That being said most slices are under what they should be or were for testing. My daughter has type 1 and we eyeball the pieces and guess a medium pizza slice for either at around 20- pizza hut pan does take longer to hit the system though because of the hiher oil content. Watch out for the sauce as well it has more sugar then you think.

It depends greatly on which resteraunt and what you get on your pizza (It can range from 20g to over 40g).

In general, pizza is a good eating-out choice for people with diabetes. Thin crust, light on the cheese and heavy on the veges is the way to go. 1-2 slices is usually the limit.

To find out exactly how many carbs are in your pizza you'd have to get the nutrition information from the delivery place. Many larger chains have nutirtion available on-line.

There are a lot of carbs, I wouldn't have more than 2 slices. There is sugar in the dough and usually in the sauce. Try to avoid lotsa sauce and thick crust. You can request nutrition information from the place or ask the manager, usually they are very helpful.

It depends on whose pizza, what type of crust, and what you put on it. Pizza Hut has an interactive nutrition calculator for their products. I think fast food places are required to provide nutrition facts nowadays, so just look up their website.
