There is always a risk a getting gential herpes with or without a condom because when a person is not having an outbreak they still transmit the virus by what is known as shedding. It is risky to have sex with someone who has it however you can reduce that risk by always using a latex condom and wash thoroughly afterwards with soap and water. It will remove the virus at the skin's surface and washing with hydrogen peroxide should also knock-out the virus but discuss this with your doctor first before you try it. Use dental dams for oral sex. If you want to have a baby, discuss this with your doctor before trying. Your doctor may have some safer ways to have a baby with a GH infected partner. I hope this helped.

Yes you can get herpes when using a condom. A lot of people get herpes from someone who isn't showing any symptoms. A condom doesn't cover all the skin that you are coming in contact with, so it still can be risky. Of course the condom helps reduce the risk. I am not sure about the baby thing. I would assume that if you are married to someone with herpes it would be difficult not to catch it at some point anyway.

Yes, I saw it on a pharmaceutical commercial for herpes medication...Valtrex I think.
If you never get herpes and want to have a baby with that partner, there's always artificial insemination.
If you do happen to get herpes from that person, it's important to let your obstetrician know..(if they don't already know). If you have an outbreak during labor, it can cause harm to the newborn during delivery...I know blindness is a possibility, along with some others. But your ob/gyn will perform a c-section if an outbreak occurs.
I know a couple of girls who this happened to and they are no longer with their boyfriend/husband. They thought they would be with them forever and now they are left with the herpes forever....which is always an embarrassing subject for them when getting into a new relationship.
Sooo...just a word of caution, make sure that this is someone who is truly committed to you, and you to them before taking a chance like that.
Good Luck! :)

If you have sexual contact with some one who is having an outbreak, then you will probably get it with or without a condom. This is because the outbreak is around to outside area.
Now if you want to have a baby the baby can be removed by C-section and will be okay. If there is no outbreak, then normal vaginal birth is fine as well.

Honey, you can get AIDS even with a condom. They are not a failsafe. They only increase your odds. You're still playing a gamblers game. Yes. You can get GH even with a condom. If you continue to have sex with an infected individual, it is only a matter of time before you contract it too. Please discuss this with your Dr., and the risks associated with intercourse with an infected person and risks of medical problems upon the baby by being carried and birthed by an infected mother.

Yes, but the chances are reduced. You can have a baby if you have genital herpes, but, depending on your condition when you go into labor, may need to deliver by C-section.
You can have sex with a person with genital herpes without catching it, but there really are no guarantees.
As for having babies, vaginal delivery or C-section seem like the most important thing in the world as the time approaches, but two months later, HOW you delivered is absolutely irrelevant emotionally.
But there are different risks in each type of delivery.
Good luck!

very low possibility of it spreading. once you've open sores on elements not coated by employing condom then certain there's a sturdy possibility of it spreading. it may even spread once you at the on the spot are not having a scourge, altough the potential for it really is smaller, yet they say condoms are not one hundred% useful hostile to herpies because elements not coated by employing condom can spread

yes. "side splash" in the area.
there is a study that shows 82% of people that take 500mg of valtrex every day for 3 years never have an outbreak again. That is practically a cure.
A cesarian section, with doctor's awareness, can prevent GH transmission.

Yes, you can definitely get GH while using a condom. Without risking exposure, you can't get get pregnant with that person. Anivirals are available, speak with your doctor about possible treatments that could make pregnancy possible without affecting you or your child.
