It seems that most of the vegetarians I have ever met are introverted, lack social skills and shy away from social contact. They usually cling to non-scientific notions such as astrology, palm reading, crystal power and the like. Not coincidentally, they all seem to have had rather horific childhoods.

It's less a reflection of being a vegetarian than it is of the KINDS of people the lifestyle attracts. Sort of like going to church. Because churches are filled with emotionally-confused/borderline sociopaths doesn't mean church CAUSES this. It just means that NEEDY people often seek out life-altering agents, institutions and life-STYLES.

Yeah, sure, I know nutty vegetarians (AND church-goers); but I also know very sane ones of admirable intellect and character. It's just that, because of the NATURE of such a lifestyle, people in need of healing are obviously among those attracted to it... And I'm sure we ALL understand why it only naturally follows: EVERYBODY in need of healing ain't exactly the picture of perfect emotional health.

Wow, aren't generalizations and stereotypes fun? I guess you know ALL vegetarians so you can make that assumption, right? Christianity is a non-scientific notion, so I guess all Christians are nuts too, eh? You probably make racial slurs in your day to day activities as well, because stereotyping is all you know. It's okay, though, it's probably due to your horrific childhood.

I've met many vegetarians who don't push their beliefs and don't criticize those who eat meat.
