The sores started out small and then progressed and now when I get one it disfigures my lip(swollen/large bump inside) the sore can sometimes be small but lately they have been larger. Nothing works to get rid of them: over the counter remedies, tea tree oil or other herbal fixes. What am I dealing with, are they a side effect of stress triggering an outbreak with my HPV?

you just go to your doctor and get medicine. you can get the generic version of valtrex. you probably just have hsv1. its a form of herpes. no cure. but not much of a big health risk. just annoying to deal with. and yes stress will cause you to break out.
ps. i just read some of the comments left before mine and there were some real ignorant people. hsv1 is commen. you could have used your friends chapstick in elementry school and contracted it. its honestly not a big deal!

I know that pregnancy creates a hormone that helps HPV and many people that have HPV and get pregnant have normal paps and the HPV goes away. I know if I had warts I would ask for a C-section when delivering the baby. I know the baby can come into contact with the warts and contract it.

Actually stress and large sores/bumps are usually related to herpes not HPV.

Have you ever been tested for herpes? If not, maybe you might want to considered it.

It's always possible that you can get warts on your lips. In fact, you can get warts (caused by HPV) anywhere on your body, including you genital area, hands and feet, chest and nipple area, etc.

If I were you, I think I would visit a doctor as soon as you could. If it really is HPV that is causing this, the doctor can prescribe you some topical medication (cream) that you can apply to your lips. If it ends up being herpes (cold sores) then the doctor can prescribe you some medication for that too. Good luck!

Firstly, there isn't a cure for hpv. There are some prescription creams that you can get from your doctor. Secondly, you say that it happens when you are stressed and that sounds more like HSV which is also known as herpes. Even the lesion you talk about as a bump sounds like herpes. The only way you can be tested for that is when you have the "bump" and they can culture it. Otherwise it lies dormant in your nerve endings (not in your blood stream) and you will most likely test negative for it. I heard that if you put Zoviriax, not sure if thats spelled right, but its for cold sores, which is also a type of herpes, on it it will dry it up and make it go away. Also it supposedly stings and then it makes it numb so that would probably be good. Well good luck with all that!

I'm pretty sure that those are two different strands of hpv, and it's certainly possible that you have both but only the oral is flaring up. Look up hpv on yahoo or something and read about it.
