If you are wetting or messing yourself because of your medical condition then yes, you will need to wear diapers all the time.
I'm incontinent due to a condition called peripheral neuropathy, this is the same condition that diabetics get over time, the only thing is, I'm not diabetic, my condition was inherited from my mom.
The condition is a progressive nerve damage that usually starts in the feet as a tingling feeling and eventually spreads up the legs with numbness following.
It's this nerve damage that when it progresses far enough it effects the nerves that control bladder and bowel movements. The end result is some degree of incontinence.
In my case it is predominantly urinary incontinence, some times I don't feel the urge to go and consequently wet my pant, now it's a diaper a wet. I still have pretty good control over my bowels and have trained my system to use the bathroom in the morning before work and at night before bed so I don't have a messy diaper to clean up very often.
I'm sorry you have this problem, whatever is causing you to have to wear diapers. Just keep in mind that it is a lifetime situation usually. I suggest cloth diapers, they are much cheaper in the long run and are much more comfortable on a day to day basis.
Good luck to you.

Well, it's your choice. If you don't mind the embarrassment of soiling your clothes because some idiot was taking too much time in the bathroom when you were in a hurry, then I guess you don't need to wear protection of that kind. However, if a doctor recommended that to me as the only practical solution when I'd already been embarrassed a few times, I'd probably go along with the suggestion. I understand technology has made some pretty tolerable ones.
You know a whole lot of us are going to be right along with you on this one. You can tell anytime you visit the drug store. It is no longer an uncommon problem, and seems to have been dealt with as good as can be expected by technology. The alternative, in the old days, was to take to bed and nursing and hospital, and give up. Is that what you would prefer to an inconvenience so minor they can advertise it on TV to sell it?

I have been having the same issues, like that odd look down by a passerby, only to discover that horrid little spot. Worst than having your fly down. I know i have diabetes but never been diagnosed. I do have all the tell tale and major symptoms. But I do practice a specific diet and I maintain. But once in a while , I run for the cliff without a parachute. I love sugar! Last night I ate Two helpings of Spaghetti and Had apple crumb Pie with Ice cream. God it was gooooooood. Half an hour later, bam! I couldn't see straight, started getting real grouchy, I was drunk. I passed out at some point, woke up around three, had urinated on myself and smelled real bad from cold sweats, now i think i need to see the Doc. I think I hurt myself this time.

bladder problems can be brought on by a number of things. if you have doubts, ask to see a specialist to see if they can perform a procedure to lift your bladder. however, some people just have weak bladders because of age or too many infections, etc. if it is caused by diabetes, it's not because your bladder is weak. it's because your nerves are damaged and you can't tell when your bladder is full so your body just lets it pass. a lot of the adult protection is slimmer and not noticeable. but, doctors are not always right and it might be wise to get a second opinion if you can. if you can't, just learn as much as you can and adjust to your situation.

I too, have diabetes. I have periods when I can't hold my bladder and then for a while I can. It seems off and on with me. It seems I have more control over my bladder when I follow my diet.
Diabetes is a cruel disease. I hope you have a family who supports you and takes care of your needs. I'm lucky to have my husband who has had to switch roles and he now has to nurture me. May God bless you.

Yes, my father has diabetic neuropathy and can't control his functions anymore. Don't worry, no one will know that you're wearing them except you.
