I think that I may have gotten this v.i from giving a friend a ******** for the second time. THe reason the second time is different is because he came in my mouth. the first time he didnt. On the way home, i started to feel like something was caught in the back of my throat and i felt like I had to hack or something to get it out. that was monday, on tuesday morning, I had a sore thoat and a bruise on the roof of my mouth. I also work at a company where the people are in close quarters, an office, and we all share headsets and computers. Its is possible i got the viral infection from there too? Im not sure. can u help me?

I did go to the doctor on thursday, and we did a blood test, the doctor said everything was fine. my white blood cells were at 8.1, very high (0ut of 10). If i had an std, it would have show up in the blood work right? so what else could it be?

The answer is YES, you can get an STD through oral sex, and you can also get HIV or AIDS from oral sex also, especially if he "came" in your mouth and he did not use a condom, if he is infected. As for other viruses, like the common cold or the flu, these viruses are usually not transmitted this way, unless he went from one infected person, not washed and then to you. Why would you even take such a risk? As for STDs there are some STDs that are not detected with bloodwork, but must be taken from a swab. For example, gonorrhea, chlamydia.

Go to a doctor and be honest with your doctor if you value your health, and next time make sure that your partner is clean, otherwise you could wind up with something a little more deadly than a sore throat.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

HIV/AIDS is a viral infection, and so is Hepatitis C.
Both of them can kill you! Now, it's harder to contract them during oral sex than vaginal, but not impossible, so STOP IT! He'd better cover it or put it away, because you are clearly not well enough informed to keep yourself safer.

But the symptoms you describe, especially since they began "on the way home" sound as if your mouth and throat got banged up a bit, and that should heal soon. The hacking sounds like a psychological reaction to having someone else's bodily fluids in your mouth for the first time.

But see your doctor again if you still feel as if you have caught a virus from him. (Did you tell the doc WHY you were concerned? You should have. Because no, STDs can take up to 6 months to show up in the blood [HIV] but few show up in just a few days, especially if they aren't looking for them! )

yes, you can get an std from oral sex.

I think you have something, and should probably see a clinic or doc .. but perhaps not an std from that fellow because your symptoms happened soon after the deed. but you don't say how long.

I remember an embarrassing moment where I was convinced I had an "std" .. sexually transmitted disease .. I felt really cruddy and had lumps. In the strictest sense of the word I did .. it was a staff infection caught from my then nurse g.f. who also still had a staff infection that she had thought she had cured . !!!!

Your mouth can be infected not only by virus but also by bacteria and fungus.
Mouth ulcers by Herpes labialis (oral Herpes simplex).
Gonococcal pharyngitis (throat infection) by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhea.
Oral thrush by infection of the mouth with the fungus (yeast) Candida albicans.
Once infected , it is very difficult to cure. Repeated infections will also occur.
Please see the webpages for more details and images on Herpes simplex, Gonorrhea and Oral thrush.

Yes you can get all the same stuff (STD, infections, ECT) with oral, vaginal, and anal sex.
My advice...
don't be stupid, don't be silly, put a condom on his willy...

You might want to cut your head off before it spreads to the rest of your body.
