I went to a vegan restaurant with a couple of friends (their invite), and although there was no red meat on the menu, they had chicken and fish. When I asked the waiter why, he said that some vegetarians eat chicken and fish.
Why is that? Wouldn't that make a person a non-vegetarian because they're eating meat? Or is it because it's not red meat?

A true Vegetarian does not eat meat of any kind. Pescarians eat fish, no meat. If you eat chicken you're a carnivore...get over calling yourself vegetarian. Vegans eat no meat, dairy, or animal products of any kind. Some ppl call themselves by these names but don't practice them.

Because some vegetarians only refuse to eat cute animals. Chicken and fish are not cute, therefore it's OK to eat them.

They are not a "true" vegetarian.... they just opt not to eat red meat. That's what I figure.

there are not vegitarians if they eat chicken.
Vegitarians don't eat fish either.
