Cut out nicotine and caffeine (both can increase heart rate). Increase your exercise tolerance and drink plenty of fluids (are you dehydrated). Your Body Mass Index is about 25 which puts you in the 70% for your age. If you can lower your wt to 170 lbs then your body mass index would be less than 50% for your age and your risk of a heart attack would decrease.
Furthermore- you may just want to relax since stress will increase your heart rate (especially if you stress over how fast your heart is beating).
Finally since the averate heart rate for your age is about 80-90, you may want to see a Dr. to get an EKG and make sure you don't have an arrythmia.
Good luck

When you exercise, it affects your cardiorespiratory system. The better shape you're in, the better your cardiorespiratory system will be. Your pulse would also be lower at rest. The fact that it's 110, it just means that you're in pretty bad shape, my friend. All you need to do is go on a healthy diet, eating 3 square meals a day and snacks here and there, but don't overdo it. Walk at least 3 miles a day, yes, walk, walking is very good for you. Take multivitamins so it will help your body.

What has your doctor suggested the cause to be? There is a way to reduce it but need to find out what is causing it. Not carrying enough 02 in the blood? Makes the heart work a bit faster. What is the blood pressure? Many factors which need to be checked out.. may be an early warning system at work, by the body.. Get that taken care of and then come and talk to me about ways to slow the heart rate.

I have a very low pulse rate and it is due to my exercising regularly. People who play spots and engage in aerobic activities soon find that their pulse rates go down naturally. But since your pulse rate is so abnormally high I would not suggest your suddenly starting a high profile exercise program, First I would recommend that you see your doctor to see if it can be lowered by medication and his advise about starting low impact exercise program.

You should read "The Blood Pressure Solution" (also available in electronic format here: http://www.bloodpressuresolution.pw ) It's a very comprehensive step-by-step book that walks you through the natural remedies of high blood pressure. It provides you with a lot of information on what foods to eat, how you can acquire and prepare these foods, how you can change your lifestyle for the better, how to eliminate the toxins from your body, how to reduce stress, how you can check your blood pressure level the correct way etc.
The book is amazing in that it not only lowers your blood pressure without the help of medications; it also aids you in having a life that is healthy, happier, and less stressful. This book chanced my life.

First, go get a check up. Take care of any problems that may be causing this. But, have you ever heard of Bio Feedback? You may be able to lower your heart rate using this technique. It is like a lie detector test. You are connected to a machine that tells you when your heart rate goes down or up. Then you do what you did when it goes down. It is really cool?

What is your BP reading?? Medications like Toprol XL work on blood pressure by lowering the workload on the heart, therefore decreasing your heart rate. Need more info on your BP.
