One would try a little cheeky Bordeaux, not too punchy, or fruity, sexy but not too kinky, as for the filo pastry, one would deep fat fry it, darling!

A good strong Rioja! That should take the nasty taste away or you could forget the wine and eat 6 red jalapenos first. Your taste buds will be temporarily out of order and you won't EVEN be able to taste the filo!!!

Sorry, but anyone who suggests a red to go with witchetty grub is not to be trusted. Go for a good Pouilly Fumé if you can, otherwise a Macon Villages is generally good value and a reliable bet.

Yeah, Ma Groobers Red, you can find it at any Phillips 66 station down South, especially during the summertime. It goes good with clams and answers that spicy bite of guacamole dip too.

May I suggest chianty if you insist on washing your grubs down with red wine, otherwise if you wish to completely immerse and indulge yourself in tropical delicatesen may I suggest you wash your protein laden grubs down with West African Palm Wine

You can never go wrong Two Buck Chuck. I'd go with the Cabernet over the Merlot, though.
