Both of my boys have asthma (hereditary.... from my side of the family, and even my husband has it). Recently though, my sister in law said her son has it, and my son is showing the same symptoms (he is thin-but appetite ok, has cough with phlegm and colds- and sometimes the flu, and his lymph nodes can be felt bulging or should I say swelling behind the lower part of the ears). We will take him for a chest xray soon, but he has fever right now. is it ok to have your xray taken if you have fever? thanks for any help!

I don't understand your question at all. What is it you want to know? An x-ray will have no effect on a fever or visa versa. If he has a fever it is an infection or virus of some kind and has nothing to do with asthma. An asthma attack can trigger asthmatic bronchitis, though. If his glands are swollen behind his ears he needs to see his doctor. Your son is sick and probably caught it from his cousin. Asthma is not a contagious disease or illness. It is something you're usually born with. Any smokers in your household? If so, make them do it outside as this will make an asthmatic child very sick and prone to bronchitis.

Let's take things one by one. It is OK to have an X ray during fever. TB causes enlargement of supraclavicular lymph nodes, not post auricular.TB in children usually presents with weight loss, loss of appetite and general ill- health, rather than cough and fever. Get a Mantaux Test (skin test) done. Also, get an X ray to reassure yourself, at least.

An X-ray shouldn't hurt him at all.
