whythenshawe hospital without a doubt, (3 star rating), they have excellent staff and they really do care, their own intensive care dedicated to open heart surgery, their own jim quick ward which is a 16 bedded ward used only for people who have come from the C.I.C.U who have had open heart surgery of any kind, their own outpatients center which is all in one building, and they have 4 self contained bungalows on the hospital grounds for you or your family to stay in if you live a distance away and they are very comfortable, as well as bedsits insiude the hospital for your next of kin to stay in while you are in the intensive care so if anything unexpected happens your next of kin is very close to be reached.
Dr. Bernard who did the first ever heart transplant in south africa visited Whythenshawe Hospital before he passed away and he was truly impressed at the standards and facilities at Whthenshawe have to offer.
My husband had his heart transplant there last year and they were brilliant. Without a doubt i know they are the best, they are like very good friends to us now. They have a very good support network in place should you need it and nothing is too much trouble, and they do have a onsite creche facility on the grounds if you are stuck for help with any children you may have, speak to one of the nurses about it and they will try to help with arranging any help at the creche. They are a god send.

My friends' 3 year old has just had open heart surgery at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester which is one of the leading heart centres.

Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester has a fabuous reputation for heart surgery - I think it was the first to perform transplant surgery.

Papworth ,been there ,they are all wonderful people ,can`t do enough for you,they know what you are going through and are very sympathetic towards you ,it is a wonderful place and if you have a partner who wants to stay near by you ,they will give you a list of people near by who will put you up ,for a fee

Best open heart sugery is Off pump Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and not CABG.

Papworth, i live in the village and there are many people who would put up relatives with patients in the hospital, my wife works in the hospital so i'd better say Papworth.
