Orange roughy, snapper or tilapia. Any somewhat firm white fish is good. Some people use tuna, shrimp or chopped scallops. I think a lobster taco would be awesome.

If it were me and I were making fish tacos (which I would never do just my personal taste. But I do know a lot about fish my ole man is a charter boat captain.) And depending upon who you were serving to if you are serving to a group I would use talipa because it is a mild fish and it is realitivly cheap. Most everyone would like it. If it were just me and/or close family or friends I would use what ever I had redfish, grouper, scamp. Mullett is also a cheap fish but very fishy. I don;t know where you are and what is avaliable in your area I would use red fish or snapper, next grouper, scamp, talipa. Don;t forget Shrimp make good tacos also. Please excuse the spelling..good luck!!

Saltwater fish, not freshwater fish. The recipes I have call for red snapper.
