Hello,
I need your help, Could HIV transmit via washing hair in the barber-shop? I ask this because I always have my hair washed in the barber-shop, and the hair-maker washed and dry-massaged the man before me, then serviced me right away. WHen the hair-maker was washing my hair, he said that that man had a very serious wound on his back. I am afraid that some blood maybe stuck on the hair-maker;s fingers and nails and passed HIV me via washin and massagin me...

Assuming that if some blood stuck to the hair-maker's fingers-nails, the time for the virus outside the body were a few seconds, then it contacted my head, my head was scratchy-bleeidin, this a risk of gettin HIV ?Can the short-exposure to the air kill off HIV ? Only few seconds can kill off HIV in the air ?

Thanx in advance!

Hello!! :o) I understand why you're all worked up over this. We all do the same thing - every now and then. We get an idea in our heads and RUN with it. But you're fine. I promise. There are just far too many variables in the way of you becoming infected. The very first variable is - of course - the 'man'. [The guy who had his hair washed before you] To make any of what you have been worrying yourself sick over - TRUE - the 'man' would have to BE HIV positive. And THEN the hair washer would have to [somehow] get the 'mans' infected blood on his hands. And THEN - the hair washer's hands [or fingernails] would have to pierce through YOUR skin and come in contact with YOUR blood. But even if all of that did happen - it would have to happen SO FAST in order to make sure the HIV virus was still ALIVE.

NOPE!! Not a chance. You're fine!! Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Sorry no
You getting all work up over nothing
But if you have a boyfriend or husband
you can get it that way
Because the virus doesn't last outside of the body
But it do if you having sex with someone you never
sure and you getting work up over the hair plus that hair maker should use glove for his safety ,you just know of one guy but do you go to the doctor or dentist fear is every where

Ya, your not considering all of other factors that are needed for the virus to be transmitted. First off, if you did not have an open wound for direct blood to blood contact then your most likely not going to get the virus. Second, you have to consider the fact that the hair dresser was using hair cleaning products that most likely killed off the virus.

No, HIV is dead in less than a second after contact with air.

No, you could only get it if he was also cut and bled into your open wound.
