okay, if you don't want to go the doctor rout. Try using a baby shampoo. MAKE SURE IT IS NO MORE TEARS FORMULA!!! even though it doesn't burn, it is still soap. and it will wash out anything that is clogging or infecting your eye.

Talk about conincidence! I have been dealing with this for a few weeks and went to our famous Iowa eye clinic where I was diagnosed with eye infection which resulted in 2 in-out patient "surgeries"

This was done after instructions to use warm pacs and an ointment put in the lower lid under the eyeball failed to resolve the situation (probably because I waited to long to have it dealt with!)

My last surgery was done last week and so far is doing fine.
Post-op care is warm pacs twice a day and the ointment at bedtime. Do not let this go on unattended, please mrlyne B

If it is conjunctivitis it will be matted after sleep, sometimes painful, itches, red & draining. You will need to go to the doctor to get meds, over-the-counter meds will not work. you need to not touch the infected eye because you can infect the other eye. Wash all areas in the house you think you have touched because you can heal this episode and touch that spot and touch either eye again and reinfect or someone else can get infected. Good Luck

how long has it been? any pain? Sounds very much like a bacterial infection which can be healed in 1-2 days with antibiotic eye ointment/eye drop (to go ur dr). Even if u dont seek treatment it will resolve on its own but will take longer and it is contagious. make sure to keep ur eyes clean with eye bath lotions and dont rub it with ur hands...it'll spread like wild fire.

It sounds like an eye infection. Go to the doctor and she/he will give you some antibiotics or some eye drops.

Sounds like conjunctivitis. See an optometrist. They'll probably give you a prescription for eyewash.
