Untreated chlamydia can lead to serious health problems for both men and women.

In women it can cause:
* ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside the womb)
* blocked fallopian tubes (the tubes which carry the egg from the ovaries to the womb), which can result in reduced fertility or infertility
* long-term pelvic pain
* early miscarriage or premature birth

In men, chlamydia can lead to:
* painful inflammation of the testicles, which may result in reduced fertility or sterility
* occasionally, Reiter's syndrome (inflammation of the joints, urethra and eyes)

If she is worried about her mother knowing she can always go to Planned Parenthood or her regular doctor and tell them not to say anything to her mother. If she is planning on using insurance through her parents though, her parents will be billed the bill or a copy of it which might explain what she was in there for. She may need to pay out of her own pocket, which can be pretty expensive sometimes. Good luck to your friend.

deliberate Parenthood will call you (or your aunt in case you decide on) with your consequences. it could take in to 7-10 days, perhaps faster (optimistically no longer later) finding on your website. while you are going to deliberate Parenthood with your aunt - and assuming you're under 18 - you do no longer choose parental consent by using fact all centers are exclusive. the only way i'd see your parents sorting out is that in case you utilize an insurance card popular at PP and someway your parents locate the checklist for it. if it is so, PP works with a sliding scale so as that therapy is low-fee for people who don't have insurance (or you could merely say you do no longer choose to apply your insurance).
