Yes.. I was born and brought up in Hong Kong, I know what real Chinese food is. We have real good food here! We have fresh seafood and a lot of fresh herbs and different cooking styles here.

Peking Duck / Braised Abalone in oyster sauce / Steamed shark's fin with ham and chicken / Scrambled egg whites with fresh crab claws / wok-fried beef cubes with garlic chips ... whatever, you name it!

Check the following websites :

http://www.hongkongfoodguide.com/eng/index.shtml

click the district icon (e.g. Causeway Bay) then click the restaurants' names and you could view the photos of the food they serve

Explore the world, don't just sit in front of your computer!

Buy an airticket and fly to Hong Kong, I'll buy you a good dinner

I love real Chinese food. I find a lot of the foods here are a lot sweeter then they should (or need to be). The mixture of flavourings is sometimes off or too strong on one. Oils that are used are often not the same (which changes the flavour). The rice served here is also different. Some dishes have been invented just for ameican chinese foods - ( I have never seen orange chicken over there. I have seen lemon, but not orange.) The basics of it are the same, but personaly I think that the real stuff is a lot better tasting.

Authentic chinese food is normally cooked with more herbs and spices that are served in western countries. However, some chinese food would gross out a lot of westerners. You see, when the chinese slaughter an animal, they usually would try to use every part of the animal, including intestines, liver, blood, heart, etc. So nothing is wasted.

It's like an acquired taste for some.

Yeah. Panda express is a piece of pebble compared to the other types and quality of foods available in China. Westernized chinese food as its name states is chinese food that caters to American people; therefore it has an acute resemblance to actual chinese food. The use of varying spices and sauces for sezshuan(sorry for spelling) makes it immensely spicier than wersternizd foods.

I eat it every day. Homemade chinese food are great, better than westernized foods, because with Chinese food you have to balance the taste of all the ingredients. Westernized are just cheap copies and they never taste the same. Those who say they do taste the same, just never appreciates food. If you ever want to try real chinese food, go to China itself. Do not hope that Hong Kong would have it, because they're being westernized, since they are being run by Britian

The food served at places like Panda Express has about as much relation to real Chinese food as Rap does to real music. Its something for people who aren't particularly bright to begin with, are ignorant about the subject, and have no taste.

I desire actual chinese language nutrition. I incredibly have spent very various of time interior the China city district of Toronto, the place the nutrition is as genuine as though one have been in China. I made advantageous to purpose a distinctive dish each time, even however I had no theory what i became ordering, with the menus being thoroughly in chinese language. And there became no MSG extra........ i'm no longer prepared on the commercialized version of chinese language nutrition.

My older brother spent last summer in China doing research. He described authentic Chinese cuisine. You would not believe the C R A P that they eat...said it was so awful he lost weight (and he was on expense account so he could order as much as he wanted)...it was disgusting listening to him describe some of the dishes. He was in Bejing and Shanghai.

I tried it at a fancy, authentic upscale restaurant in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles. It tasted exactly the same as the stuff under the heat lamps. And it was filled with MSG.
