Take 1 pound of ground meat and brown it in a large pot. While it is browning add one or two chopped onions, minced garlic to taste and salt and pepper. If you like it spicey, add chopped jalapeno pepper to taste at this point. If you want, you can also chop some bell peppers (green, red, and/or yellow) and add them at this point. (I use at least one and sometimes two fresh jalapeno peppers.) Add about a teaspon of Fennel Seed)

After the meat and veggies simmer for a while, add a large (30 or 32 oz) can of tomato sause and one or two small (8 oz) can of tomato paste. (Generic is fine.) Bring to a boil, reduce so the sauce simmers, and let it cook for a while.

Add oregano, bay leaf, and salt and pepper to taste as the sauce simmers. Taste test for seasoning and add more as needed.

About 1/2 hour before serving, add fresh sliced mushrooms if you like.

I use tomato sauce and ground beef, then I add italian seasoning to taste. Very simple and very yummy. Since I like my sauce thick I only use 2 8oz cans of sauce and a couple of tablespoons of seasoning to 1lb of ground beef.

As an Italian and for the most part of what I read here-- Go to the market and get yourself "Prego w/ meat"! There were one or two recipes that would probably be somewhat edible! Sorry, but can't give away those family recipes if you know what I mean! The next thing you know some dirt bag getting rich off someone else's hard work! No, I'm not from NYC either!

Here is couple of Spaghetti Sauce recipes for you:

{“
Spaghetti Sauce

4 tbsp. oil (from browned meat or olive oil)
2 lb. sausage or ground pork or beef or chicken
5-7 cloves garlic (more if you like it)
1 onion
1 1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
Dash and sprinkle salt
Many mushrooms
1/2 c. grated carrots (if you like)
1-2 bell peppers
2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese, grated
72 oz. tomato sauce (many sm. cans or 2 lg. cans)
1 tsp. honey
Fresh parsley

Brown meat in skillet by tearing meat into small pieces in hot skillet, turning meat to cook all sides. Some oil will separate from meat during frying.

In large pot or skillet used to cook sauce in, pour 4 tablespoons oil from meat. Add spice, onion and minced garlic to the heated oil, then stir in the remaining spices. Stir until onions get soft and garlic is a light golden brown (do not allow garlic to get too dark or it will be burned and bitter).

Clean and chop many fresh mushrooms and add to skillet. Add carrots and chopped bell peppers, occasionally stirring as to saute evenly.

Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Add tomato sauce cans (cooked tomatoes) to skillet.

Stir in drained browned meat.

Cover pot and let it simmer for an hour, not boil. Make spaghetti pasta 15 minutes before serving preparing according to directions on package.

If you happen to like spicy foods, try a jar of extra spicy salsa instead of normal pasta sauce. That will make your tastebuds dance. I quite like parsley as a garnish too.

Buy your favorite jar of spaghetti sauce, add your favorite veggies/meat, and some tomato paste to make it thicker, it works well, and is fast to fix. :)
