Wow, good question. I would have to say about 5 minutes, but I have never baked just one potato at a time.
The whole procedure is this:
Using a fork, puncture the potato at least once on all sides and both ends. Wrap in a paper towel and bake on high in the microwave. I usually do 4-6 at a time and space them around the turntable beside each other so none are in the middle and set the timer for 15-18 minutes. They all come out perfect and are begging for drawn butter or sour cream.

First of all you have to understand that this is all relative to the size of the potato, but in general, after you puncture the potato, I would say that for a medium size potato, and at a high temperature, that you can nuke it for around 7 minutes. You may, however, want to check out your microwave, and the reason for that is because on some models it is possible for you to click on the baked potato icon button, and by doing so, it will automatically nuke at the specific time.

Take a paper towel...it does not have to be damp. Stick a fork into the potato in a few places so that it doesnt burst and then wrap it in the paper towel. Place in microwave for 5 mins on high then turn them over and around and microwave 5 more mins. Let them sit for a minute before you take them out. Perfect.

Depends on the size of the potato. Medium size(about the sizeof a base ball) 5-6 minutes.(800 watt or higher. longer if loweer wattage) Turn the potato over after 3 minute. If your don't have a M/wave with carousel, turn 1/4 every minute until fork inserts without pushing hard.

What is "microwave"? I read somewhere that microwaves change the protein structure of foods... I do not know if that is true or not, or if it is bad for the body that the protein would be changed and then you ingest it as such....
I do not know how much "protein" a potato has so I do not know how much it would effect such

7 minutes... (add 3 1/2 minutes for each additional potato)
...but remember to poke it with a fork a few times
...and if you want it crispy, just pop it in the oven at 500 degrees after the micorwave and the skin will get crispy!
