Cissus is a genus of plant in the grape family. Among the commonest species, Cissus antarctica and Cissus rhombifolia are garden plants. Cissus striata is a woody wine native from South America, mainly from Chile.

Cissus
This cultivar is family of the grape, and appreciates a calcareous ground. It is a very attractive climbing plant, of which the leaves per type differs.

The Cissus loves a temperature around the 24 degrees. The plant grows, depending on the type, not only well at a light place, but also on heavy shadowed places.

Depending on the type the Cissus loves more or less wet surroundings.

There are several cissus plants I think and thus not sure which one is known as the edible kind. Sorry.

Type: House Plant

Comments: Cissus are vining plants suitable for hanging
pots or for training on a trellis. They prefer medium
light intensity but tolerate shade for short periods of
time. Maintain an evenly moist soil during the growing
season but give less water in winter. Use any house plant
fertilizer monthly. Ideal temperatures are 50 to 65
degrees at night and 70 to 85 degrees during the day. In
winter, Cissus prefer slightly lower temperatures. If
subjected to high summer temperatures, provide supplemental
humidity. Repotting may be done in spring or summer. March
is the best time to prune.

Propagation: Propagation is by stem cuttings taken at any
time but rooting is slow.
