My heart started to hurt while I kept working on my computer for a whole night. I thought I will go away if I have some rest but it didn't. It hurts in the left upper side of the heart. I can't breath all the way because it hurts. It also hurts when I move from one side to the other or if I do sports. It's not a strong pain but it causes me disconfort... and it's been like this for 2 days already. Any ideea what it could be? Or what to do to make it go away? By the way, I'm 24 years old.

My doctor is on holiday in Greece. The University clinic has a short program (from 9 to 12 AM), I will try to get there tomorrow if the pain doesn't go away but I'm in the middle of an exam session, I should graduate next week if everything goes well! Thank you for all the answers!

you have a strain of the muscles , simple as that, when you sit on the computer your chest is mostly still, any draft or bad posture will cause stifness and muscle pain,
you have to get up and stretch at least once every hour to prevent re-occurence,
its very very common and not a major problem but you have to stretch if you intend to be on a pc for long periods,
cheers

It is rare for 24 year olds to have heart disease but not entirely unheard of. The fact that it is persistent discomfort without change over a long period of time suggests that it probably isn't angina (ischemic pain from inadequate blood supply). Also the fact that it is positional means it is unlikely to be angina.

Your description of "your heart" hurting is confusing as our hearts do not have pain receptors per se. I am going to interpret this as a sense of deep chest discomfort. There is a long list of what it could be but high on my list is asthma. You can have bronchial spasm in your central chest that is very uncomfortable, affects your breathing and can be positional. I believe there are some over the counter products like Bronchotine mist that can be used. You can also try deep steam inhalation. Avoid aspirin containing products but you can try Tylenol.

To be sure a medical provider can take a history, ask you questions, do a physical exam and order tests as indicated. Given that it affects your breathing, I wouldn't wait around too long.

Good luck and cogratulations on your graduation.

It sounds like a problem with your blood circulation. Get off the computer and go for a walk. Go for a walk every day for at least 30 minutes and don't spend too long at the computer without having a break and moving around (ten minutes off the computer each hour is good). If the pain doesn't go away within a couple of days make an appointment with your doctor and take half an aspirin each day until you see him. The aspirin will thin your blood and help your circulation.

I have a heart condition and it makes me feel tired and sometimes dizzy and short of breath, and my heart has palpitations. There are so many different symptoms , and not everyone has the same ones. It may not be your heart, it could be just stress , you could have pulled a muscle or even gas. Even at 24 years old you should most definitely get checked out by your doctor, better to be safe now than sorry later that you ignored the signs

Online diagnosises are impossible and unethical online. Not even legit MDs will answer your question.

If you suspect it's a "heart attack" immediately get to a nearby ER. Don't wait, just call.

Your case can only be diagnosed when you receive the testing -- nuclear imaging, MRI dye scans and host of other tests. Pinpointing heart alignments is tricky, and takes more than a guess to get a proper dx.

First, you should go see a doctor. It's probably not your heart itself but the muscles that is surrounding it. But you should never take that kind of pain "unseriously". So call your doc!

Consult your doctor.... it could only be a pulled muscle but it could be something more serious that needs immediate attention.
