If your worried you may have a std of some sort, you can get tested at your local GUM(Genito-urinary medicine) clinic in the UK. It is completely 100% confidential and no one, not your parents or friends will find out that you have been tested. I work for the NHS in a microbiology lab this is where all the GUM clinic samples come to be tested. The forms and the sample do not have your name on them, they have a code so we don't even know who the patients are. The clinic can take sample to be tested for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes and hepatitis. You should however know that ou will have to speak to the doctor before you are tested for HIV as you need to understand the ramifications should you test positive. It also up to you what you want to be tested for.

The GUM clinic are usually held at your local health centre on certain days of the week. I know its embarrassing and worrying but you would feel much better if you had yourself tested as it would put your mind at ease.

I f you live in america im not sure where you go to be tested, but if you visit your local doctor's surgery they should be able to help you out.

Hope this helps

The symptoms of syphilis are seen in three stages- primary, secondary and tertiary. The first stage symptoms appear any time within ninety days of contacting syphilis but not within the first ten days. The symptoms are common for men and women.

First Stage Symptoms:
You may see a painless small sore on the part where you contacted syphilis. This sore is like a blister and is called chancre. This is painless and disappears in few days. Some people get multiple sores. The sites may be typically- genitals, anus, lips or tongue. The lymph nodes in your groin may also enlarge. The symptom of chancre can always be mistaken for something else and as it disappears within few days even without any treatment. So most of the people never realize that they have syphilis.

Secondary Stage Symptoms:
The symptoms of secondary stage syphilis appear three to six weeks after you first see the chancre. This time may vary. The symptoms are-

- Fever
- Fatigue and tiredness
- Red/reddish brown coin-sized sores appearing on any part of the body, especially the palms and soles
- Ache in bones and joints.

These symptoms go away after some time. They may again appear or may not reappear again during the following two years.

Tertiary Stage Symptoms:
If syphilis is not treated in the second stage, the bacteria spread around in the body and after few years of latency, they cause wide spread damage in the body. The bacteria affect arteries and brain. Syphilis may cause paralysis, deafness, visual problems, and/or other neurological problems. If the problems are wide spread, death may result.

So you obviously were irresponsible enough to have unprotected sex. Now it's time to take responsibility for your actions and go get yourself tested. Siphylis is a really nasty little disease that, if not treated, will make you go crazy. More so than you are now because you're freaking out that you have it. And if you've had unprotected sex with more than one parter, make sure you let those people know if your test comes back positive. It's just mean to pass along a disease and not tell someone about it, especially if you know you have it.

Although it might be shameful I suggest you go to the clinic or the hospital and get it cleared up before it progresses into something worser but still remember there is nothing more important than your health just when you go to the doctor remember the privacy law the doctors, hospitals, clinic ETC...... they can't tell anyone your problem without your consent so your safe and it's going to be your secret and you will have your health back within a week

I was a military medic, yes you have an STD, now man up like you did when you used your Johnson, and go to planned parenthood, give everyones name you had sex with to the healthcare workers, hurry up before the women go sterile, and before you go insane from syphilis dementia (a possibility)
and have a nice day

You must see a doctor. If it is syphilis, it can EASILY be cured.
If it is neglected, it can become worse, very DIFFICULT to be cured.

You can chance that or tell your parents NOW. They will learn of it now or later. You will become ill enough that they will rushing you to a hospital.

what makes you believe its syphillis? did you go to medical school? did you ask the person you had sex with if they have a disease? stop freaking out and go to the doctor before something really bad happens to your you-know-what.

Please see the webpages for more details and images on Genital warts (Human papiloma virus). Please compare your symptoms with those given in the images. Syphilis is easy to cure than Genital warts. Herpes simplex virus and Human papilloma virus are more prevalent in the present community. Please visit Genito urinary medicine (GUM) clinic urgently.
