PubMed is the same medical article storehouse used by the medical professionals. If you need the facts about current treatments and more, that's the place to research.

There probably is a medical study.
Yes,heart disease and having periodontal problems increases the likelihood of heart attack.
I heard a dentist on the radio speak of this.

I can't quote the study, but it appears that gum disease allows bad bacteria to get into the blood stream and that can cause heart problems.
