Most likely it is one of life's great worries :) Actually those things tend to come and go with no apparent cause. If it comes back or stays, try to feel if it's bone or muscle. It could be a flu if the muscle hurts - or overexertion. If the bone hurts you might consider bone cancer, but that's not all that common.
Otherwise, it may be circulatory or nervous. If it's a stroke or heart attack, you should seek medical attention.

It shows symptoms of development of heart problems thats very shortly going to act up the body.
Upper arm heaviness and stiffness is caused to over stress to ur body.
Sometimes it could be due to nerve shifts which cud also be a reason to pain, wrong position of sleeping, etc

just the pain all by itself doesn't indicate much.
Do you have any shortness of breath?
Do you have high blood pressure?
Is your heart rate rapid or slow?
Do you have any aches or pains in your neck or jaw?
Do you have any chest pressure along with the arm pain?
If it worries you, see a doctor.

Could be heart attack. Could more likely be a muscle cramp or poor circulation in your arm. Get it checked by doctor. Our opinions don't count as much as doctor's opinion. That would be a terrible epitaph - "9 out of 10 Yahoo Answerers said it was not heart attack. R.I.P."

Spoke to my girlfriend who used to be a nurse, and I asked her if your pain could be due to heart trouble. My girlfriend thinks it could be bursitis or even gas. My girlfriend does know that a sharp pain in the upper left arm could be heart trouble. Visit your doctor and mention this. If you over worked your arm then it could be bursitis (inflammed joint).

wine would contain yeast.. and when you drink it.. i presume gas forms in side your stomach.. this gas pushes against your diaphragm whihc has got the same nerve supply as your shoulder... so i suppose it is reffered pain... do not drink that particular wine
