My wife is a diabetic. She had a normal delivery under supervision of a gyneacologist. But C-section is possible if the child has grown too large for normal delivery, due to badly regulated bloodsugar levels. The higher the sugar level, the bigger the child will get. Usually the supervised delivery will be set in motion artificially a few weeks early to prevent this.

If your blood sugars are kept in good control throughout your pregnancy, you have a very good chance of being able to have a vaginal delivery. Most complications arise from blood sugars that are not kept in good control. Be diligent with your diet, monitor your blood sugars regularly, including at different times of the day, for example you may want to do an early test some days, and some days you should test 2 hrs after supper, to make sure your blood sugars are staying consistently within normal limits.

High blood sugars can lead to several complications, including causing the baby to grow so large that a C-section becomes necessary.

Take care of yourself and your baby, and follow your Dr.s advice closely.

either, it's not something the baby will "catch" through vaginal delivery. Although, birth by c-section may be your worst option due to slower wound healing as seen in diabetic patients.

You could give birth either way. However having C section is done in case of emergency and if its done you may not be able to have a child vaginally due to you may rupture your uterus since it has been cut width wise.

Either way......C-section only if it is nessacary.
Diabetes wont stop you from having a Vaginal birth unless you have complications from it.
They may induce you early so the baby does not get to big.

you have every chance to normally deliver a healthy baby. Stage of your diabetes, the no. of children you have, drugs you are taking, the way your body handles the pregnancy all play a role in the final decision.
