what is it called when a medical student thinks they have a condition a patient has? i think i have that cuz i always think i have symptoms of a mi which is a heartattack but i dont have it. weird huh?

Paranoia ;). Don't worry it happens to everyone...Which year are you? It usually gets worst in the second year. It resolves by the end of residency ;).

OMG Munchausens (note correct spelling) ??? People, if you don't what the hell you're talking about don't freaken answer. Look it up, would ya?? Munchausens does not provide symptoms in yourself, but purposely causing distress and illness in another in order to gain attention for yourself.

Anyway, they are called psychosomatic symptoms, and they happen to everyone....every hear of sympathy pains?? Same thing. HOWEVER on the same note, if you are experiencing anything that resembles heart irregularities, whether you THINK they are psychosomatic or not, visit your doctor.
