We eat great stuff. I live in north México, Nuevo León, to be precise. Here we love "machacado", which is scrambled eggs with chile and beef jerky (mixed, not separate), and marinated "arrachera" which is tender meat with a lot of spice.

Some other foods are: Mole (I don't really know what it's made of, you'll have to look into it), "a la charra" beans (it's a bean soup with a lot of chile, spices and some pork), "chiles rellenos" (stuffed pepper... the stuff can be white cheese, meat and vegetables, etc.), tacos (which are actually very different from the kind of tacos you have over there... much better!), tamales (again, much better that the kind available in the US), pozole (soup of corn grains with meat and spice), etc.

We have a lot of different foods!!!! If you want any more examples, just email me.

By the way, fajitas are more "chicano" (mexican-american) than Mexican. It's kind of like "arrachera", but sliced.

Yes they eat Mexican food, and a wide range of other foods--especially if they live in the US. This theory doesn't work every time but is an effective gauge, I've used it myself! Though, it may not neccesarily mean the food is authentic, but that it is close enough and tastes good. Taco Bell is Mexican "inspired" food and yeah it's junk food, but there are some worse "authentic" Mexican foods nutritionally speaking. I say Mexican "inspired" because they sometimes come up with stuff that you will not find anywhere in Mexico! The difference between Taco Bell and REAL Mexican food is HUGE! I live in Guadalajara right now and there is no comparison between the two!! It is like with any food the more time and care you put in to making it, the better it tastes.

As an American that has spent a lot of time in Mexico, I can tell you that the average Mexican in most of Mexico eat a lot of fresh vegatetable and fruits, combined with grains, tortillas, rice and beans.

Many of the dishes Americans think of as "Mexican" are actually Tex-Mex or Cal-Mex some other American inventions, and many of the fatty, rich meaty foods you get at American Mexican restaurants are the "feast" dishes of the average Mexcian that they only prepare on special occasions.

Also, being a total chile-addict myself, Mexican food is no where near as "spicy" as you think. Central American, Carribean, New Mexican, Indian and Thai foods are much spicier than real Mexican.

I'm from New Orleans where I was raised on File Gumbo and Shrimp Creole and Hot Boudin and I find most Mexican dishes to be quite tame. I always ask for some Tabasco sauce to go on my jalepenos.

Yes, they eat tortillas, but as the bible says, man can not live on bread alone!

They eat a lot of the same things we do. It is how it is put together an the spices used that make it Mexican Food!

Ever had a taco?

There are lots of web sites with info on regional Mexican cuisine. In the north its very Americanized. Pizza is very popular now and there's a Mac Donald's in Rosarito. Cooking at home depends on the budget, as you have heard tortillas are a staple. Beef, pork and fish are plentiful in most states and Mexican Moms are influenced by nutrition information...milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, necessary for good health. Conversely, unhealthy snacks such as chips and sodas are widely sold. The most popular recently, with kids, are Cup-Of-Noodles. Its a very civilized country.

Re-fried beans, tortillas, enchiladas, tacos...? Your question should really read, what is included in authentic Mexican cuisine. Mexican people can eat anything they want. Click the below link and read up on the traditional dishes.

It varies depending on peoples economy. Middle class people typically serve pan con leche/chocolate/café, or licuados de frutas for breakfast and tortillas are included during lunch and dinner. Beans, rice, and eggs are a large part of their diets and they eat very little meat. Meat is typically deep fried and simmered in red or green sauce which they make with tomatoes or tomatillos and green jalapeño peppers, onion, garlic, salt, and a dash of knor suiza. They then serve it with a side of rice or beans and tortillas. Most families also have a merienda most commenly named: "cena" before bedtime. It consists of pan con leche, chocolate caliente, tamales, atole de maizena, or arroz con leche. The wealthy have many more options and include more fruits, vegetables, meats, grains, and dairy in their diets. They also include pan con leche and licuados since it is cultural to do so, but they serve several options during breakfast and their cena, and they eat very balanced during lunch/dinner.

Your project is WACK and quite offensive. What you probably should have asked is what are some examples of mexican dishes.

Mole (chicken covered with a chocolate sauce), Fideo (chicken spaghetti), Chile Rellano (stuffed pepper), Enchiladas, Tamales, Abondagas, Carne Guisada, Huevos Rancheros, Chiliequiles, barbacoa (mexican bbq)
