Because they're hypocrites, especially the three I know who all eat fish - "sea vegetables" as I tease them.

It depends on the strength of the persons beliefs. Some veggies or vegans will cook meat for their partner because they don't want to force their beliefs onto them. Whilst others will refuse to even have meat in the house.

It is basically down to the individual, what they believe and sometimes how they were raised. It can even come down to why they became a vegetarian.

I eat a mostly vegetarian diet and it has nothing to do with cruelty to animals. I avoid meat because of the chemicals the animals are injected with. I don't want to ingest those chemicals. We are in an area where there is no access to free range or animals not treated with steroids.

I don't avoid meat because it is seen as fashionable. I do not avoid it because I'm concerned about animals. I love animals but cows are bred for a reason. If we stopped eating cows then we wouldn't see them anymore. Well..unless animal rights activists plan on taking care of a bunch of cows.

I simply limit meat intake for health reasons. I'm very aware of the chemical additives in food. My husband is aware too but not as cautious as I am. So, when I'm grilling a mushroom for dinner I have no problems throwing a steak on the grill for him. He is his own person. I don't dictate what he can and can't eat. If he wants a steak then he can have a steak. Who the hell am I to say he can't.

I'm vegetarian and I have cooked meat for work, as a cook in a cafe and as a nanny, I also cook meat for my partner. I'ld rather not, but I don't see that it's my place to inflict my point of view on others and influence their food choice against their wishes.

I cook dinner his meat. human beings could think of that i'm being a bad vegan, notwithstanding it does not relatively matter quantity what human beings think of. you ought to stumble on the thank you to compromise, and in case you may no longer then it won't artwork interior the long-term. there are various vegetarians and vegans who're very judgmental, and you in user-friendly terms ought to bypass with what you think is sweet. this is particularly user-friendly to cater to the desires of the two. Plus, in dating a meat eater and cooking the nutrients, they're ingesting much less meat, and you're nonetheless helping slightly in that way.

"Happy" to cook meat?? No, I'm not happy about it. It is my family's choice to eat it, and since I won't let them live on junk food and microwave dinners..I do it. The meat industry IS cruel, but no matter what many of my fellow vegans/vegetarians might think..it isn't going to go away. Too many people support them. I can only be an example to my family and others that you don't NEED meat to live. People have their beliefs and pre-conceived ideas about what they have to eat to be healthy..myself included. Who am I to force what I think on someone else?

It also depends when one started to be vegetarian and what are the reasons behind the decision. If both partners were not vegetarian and one decides to be one, not cooking may mean imposing the decision on the other and may lead to breaking up.

Well some people vegetarians for different reasons. maybe those who are animals advocates do it for love. But there are other people who are vegetarians for different reasons, simple because they don't like meat or becuase they;re allergic to it or they can't consume it for medical reasons. So these people who cook meat for their partners do so with no real problem.

I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat meat or fish.

I hate vegetarians who say "I'm vegetarian but I eat fish". If you eat fish you're not a bloody vegetarian are you, because a fish is a living creature! Doh!!!

As far as cooking meat for others, well my vegetarianism is about my own body. I don't want to put animal flesh in my body. But what others decide to do with their bodies is really up to them. I don't like cooking meat and haven't done for a long time although I have occasionally made cold ham sandwiches for my boyfriend and I have to spoon out pedigree chum for my dogs.

I wouldn't want my BF bringing home raw steak or anything but he does have frozen sausages and bacon in the freezer for his bacon/sausage sarnies and I have to put up with that. And is he brings home a KFC or a MaccyD's I'm not going to banish him to the garden. I'm not going to force my beleifs on him. He wouldn't let me anyway!

I don't like the smell of sight of meat much I have to say, but I'm OK as long as its not me thats eating it. I'll never stop the whole world eating meat or killing animals. People will always eat it, all I can do it make my own little individual stand by not eating it, if that makes sense.

I totally agree with your statment.
There is no point been vegetarian if you are happy to cook flesh and give it to someone to eat.
I am vegetarian but would never give someone else meat to eat. I may as well be eating the meat myself.
