Here is my home made recipe!
Beef Vindaloo.
2tbsp Vegetable oil
1 Medium onion,diced
Quarter jar Patak's Vindaloo curry paste (according to taste)!
200 grams fresh or canned chopped tomatoes
100ml water
1 tsp Fresh chopped Coriander leaf (optional)
Fry onions in oil til golden.Stir in curry paste, add beef, and fry til sealed. Add tomatoes and water, mix well, and cover pan.Simmer on low heat for 40 minutes, until beef is cooked. Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaf,(optional).
Equally delicious with Chicken,Lamb,Prawns,or vegetables. To enhance the flavour, add some Pineapple juice during cooking!!!
I usually serve on a bed of Basmati Rice, sprinked with a little cheese on top. You may also like to add some small or chopped potato. (pre-cooked)!

all the recipes sound great, I've found that the key to cooking with homemade versions is to put as much red chili in as your comfortable with. If your heat sensitive start with a very little bit and taste it once your done preparing the paste or rub. If it's not hot enough add a bit more until YOU like it. No recipe with spices must be exact, that's the beauty of cooking.
Enjoy! स्वादिष्ट खाना (svādiṣṭ khānā)

"The 'Vindaloo' originates from the Indian state of Goa, around 200 miles south of Bombay. Goa was originally colonised by the Portugese who brought their language and Christian religion with them. The name translates roughly as meat cooked in wine (or vinegar). In UK curry houses this dish is often very hot and fiery, however this authentic recipe has a very aromatic and subtle taste."

MMM, sounds good, I might try it sometime...

A vindaloo is supposed to be sweet and sour and not hot like its served in the UK. Also a vindaloo is almost always pork or chicken, lamb and beef aren't used.

Try recipe at the link below, I've used it to cook vindaloo like its served in Goa.

I've used lots of recipes for both madras and vindaloo, and they never ever ever ever come out like they do in a restaurant.

Its a shame, cos the restaurant ones are soooooo yummy!
