what is legionaries disease. define it for me.?

have a mass on my right lung. Since there was a scare at the VA in Wadepark and they shut the facility down, (I was there for a short time when this happened, I was concerned about contacting the disease)

legionaires is a particularly bad kind of pneumonia caused by Legionella pneumophila. This bacteria lives in cool, damp places like the old air ducts in very old buildings. This pneumonia was first recognized in the early 1900's in Philadelphia at a meeting of the American Legion.
