Any sweet like honey has to be figured into the daily diet. Deduct the carbohydrates in a serving of honey from carbohydrates allowed for a meal. This goes for any sweet treat a diabetic want to inliven his diet with ocassionally.

I come from a "Long-line" of diabetics... And even have an Uncle who had part of his leg, amputated, because of his diabetes.. I dont know if my dad (who is very careful of what he eats), eats honey or not... I do know honey has so many good things in it.. Its an antioxidant, for one, it helps "Upset-stomache", it helps prevent, cavities in our teeth, its also been used in other small countries as an organic, "Owee, medicine" people have put it on their cuts, and it helps, to heal them... its "Wonderful" in green-tea!! But, I cant be sure, if it is harmful for diabetics.. It is a sugar/type... I would double-check, with your physician, and or call a toll free "Dial-A-Nurse" to ask one of them... Good-Luck, and I sure do hope Diabetics can have it, its such a Wonderful, organic, food-helper!!! Smile!!

Honey!- All kinds of sugar should be avoided in order to prevent complications. Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet. This kind of diet includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish (not canned in oil), vegetables, poultry, egg whites, and polyunsaturated oils and margarines (corn, safflower, canola, and soybean oils). Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, lard, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.

Besides which, why would you want to eat honey -- which essentially amounts to bee vomit -- in the first place?!?
