heck no!!!! Firstly I wouldn't want people to know I am associated with the person who is the problem & secondly, I don't think tv is a good place to try sort problems out as all parties tend to think they are in the right. I think the lights, cameras & audience would just encourage the arguing to persist & not allow any resolution to take hold. lol, interesting question!!
As for liking those types of shows, sure why not, good for entertainment value, helps me remember my problems aren't all that big!! I seriously doubt any solutions come out of them though!!

God, if I was in power I'd force anybody on the Jeremy Kyle show to go through sterilisation. Including Jeremy. Car crash TV.
PS why the hell does Learn Direct sponsor this cr*p? That lot on the show are beyond redemption as they thought having a kid was a good way to opt out of any social responsibility in the first place.

No! I was really feeling down once and contacted a chat show by email. What I thought they'd do for me I'm not quite sure. When they made contact, the thought of sitting in front of the nation airing my dirty linen in public was quite daunting, I quickly changed my mind. These chat shows sometimes invade people's privacy to boost their ratings. I often wonder whether the 'caring' host (and co) would be so caring if they were not being paid millions!

I wouldn't go on a chat show in case anyone i new saw the program...i can understand why people go on as a last resort, but it would take a lot to get me not to think about the embarrassment i would have if i went on one of those shows.

No. I think these shows are a digusting invasion of privacy and the people that come on have no respect for themselves and other people. Plus, nobody else can understand your personal problems, so the chat show won't help you. It's just all about the money and being on tv.

They're morbid; exhibitionism for those who go on, and voyeurism for those who watch. It's a sad commentary on today's society that people are so desperate for sympathy that they will go on TV and air all their dirty linen. And a sick sidelight that they probably get *paid* to do so, because people are sick enough to watch.
My private life is my own, and if I have problems I might share with a person I thought I could trust, but I would be careful who I picked. I certainly wouldn't lay it all out on the media!

If the objective is "air-time" I would go on a show. If I need to solve a problem, i would go to an expert and get it solved. Most shows are good for the organizers and sponsors, may not be for the participants!

No I wouldn't. I know that it is wrong to judge others, but I can't see why these people do go on such shows. Are they that desperate for their 15 minutes of fame? Or have they exhausted all other avenues available to them to solve their problems?
