Because that is just the way it is..The rich get rich and the poor get poorer and go off to war as a last resort because the economy is in such ruin that they can't find jobs in their hometowns and resort to the military as a means of survival and support..But many of these people are some of the bravest human beings on this earth and have more guts and character than those rich bastards at the Republican Fund Raiser Dinners that you know who attends..I was just disgusted when I saw the P talking to a group of richies and calling them his base..the have's and the have mores..it was sickening..this country is going to hell in a handbasket and it is being run into the ground by the rich ..just like every great empire in the past history of this earth..

First of all everyone got those tax credits. I know I benefit from them (and by no means am I rich) and I'm pretty sure you don't turn down that money either. Second, we have a volunteer military. They CHOSE to go. My husband is in the army and made that decision knowing that he'd be sent off to war somewhere and that there'd be people like you who acted like he was just some poor dumb hick that was being used. I don't understand why there are so many people in this country that think it's bad and evil to be rich and stupid to be in the military. We should encourage people to work hard and make money and we should be thankful for the people that are willing to step up and defend our way of life and the freedoms that we have.

Rich people and Corporations give lots of money to the Republicans when they are purchasing so-called 'elected' offices.

Regular folks don't have enough money to be important, except as fodder for the War Machine.

While Bush has been in office, it has been those making under $40,000.00 getting all the tax cuts (they pay 3% on average). POOR me. Also, those who are going to Iraq signed up for it, so they knew what they were getting into. Besides, ordinary people aren't going to Iraq, the EXTRAORDINARY are. It's the losers and the puzzies who are staying home biotching about everything, taking for granted all the liberties they have. I make under $40 grand and I thank EVERY serviceman I see.

Could be because they are the ones that pay the taxes, not welfare moochers, just a wild guess. Ordinary people don't go to Iraq, which is why you are not there.

Because even with their tax cuts and loopholes they still pay more in taxes than you or I could even dream of paying.

Because this country is being run by rich, corporate Republicans, like Dubya Bush and his cronies. Dubya, you will recall, spent his "military service" AWOL from the Air National Guard. There's a real "Audie Murphy" story, huh?
