There are some selected ways to losing weight effectively and safely. Weight gain and loss are directly related to the balance between the calories you take in, such as your daily food and the calories you burn through daily activity and specific exercise, such as sports. There is no quick way to lose weight and stay healthy.
Perfect diet foods for example are apples and carrots as they keep you feeling full longer which cuts down on hunger. Things to avoid are sweet foods, (even if they are low calorie as they are high in fat which inevitably adds on the calories.) fried foods, and animal products.
Burn more than you consume with exercise. Weight training is the most effective form of weightloss as it builds muscle and burns fat at a quicker rate then other forms of exercise as aerobics etc.
Good luck.

hi
This plan really worked for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

Crash diets don't work. Temporary weight loss shouldn't be your goal. Try aiming for long-term lifestyle change. As proper nutrition is essential for weight loss, keep in mind being active will help in weight management.
On regards to what you should eat, cut out empty calories that do not provide any nutritional value like carbonated sodas or refined sugars. Do not cut out any food group. Your body needs carbohydrates, protein and fat in order to keep you alive. Try eating sensibly instead. Read food labels. If you can't read it, don't eat it (referring to complicated scientific sounding ingredients). Avoid trans fats. Incorporate vegetables and fruits if you don't already.
I could go on and on. But read publications that are sound. Increase your knowledge. Knowledge is power. And yes, learn to love and accept your body.

You want to lose weight in a SAFE manner, not just fast. I recommend carb cycling (where you eat really low carb one day, medium number of carbs the next, then back to low then medium but once a week go up to 100 grams of carb as your "splurge day.")
The concept is discussed in greater detail at the More_Muscle group at yahoogroups:

Be sure ot drink LOTS of water, too.
