We should not see people as stereotypes, just as others should not see us as stereotypes. Scuba diving is a community and everyone in that community has responsibilities.
The main thing is that we respect the underwater world we visit and ensure we do not damage it in any way. I have dived with an Italian videographer who was an excellent and accomplished diver, but even she was embaraced by her fellow country folk!

So no, keep em out of the water! in fact restrict them to areas where spear fishing is allowed so the can practice on each other!

Nah .. leave that to the Australians and let the Italians cook the after dive dinner .. then the Brits can sit around and moan a lot and all of us will be conforming nicely to our national stereotypes and everyone will be happy :)

Ha! Another question is, can italians fight a war? The answer is no. This is because the Italians cannot do anything right (except dive of course - in football not water). I find it amusing that thier country has not become a place for clowns and monkeys...or has it?

oops ! Here, you dropped your tar-brush !!

I met an underwater photographer who was italian - the only reason he shouldn't be allowed to dive was that he was a body-double for Michaelangelo's David and his work was incredible.

Unfortunately for your argument he was also a keen environmentalist.

Of course they should. It's highly amusing to watch them swimming backwards everywhere.
