Pedram, MIT does not itself giv out any Scholarships, so moneywise, your best chance is seeking a scholarship from whereve you are to cover the 26,000 usd tuition per year.

As for everything elese, speaking french is a good thing, MIT has a lot of multilingual students. Having an interesting background is a plus. Then, all that's left is doing well on sats and having great essays. I trully believe that essays and the angle you give to your presentation are the most important variable in your application (all the rest - background, sat's, school grades - are already given).

I spent four year at MIT as an undergrad and had a great time. I was you all the luck in getting in - but just in case, France also has great school in engineering..

If you are not a US citizen, you will not be able to get a student loan. If you can get enough money in scholarships you may be able to go. Apply to the university, apply for financial aid, and see what you can get. That is the only way to find out.

I doubt if the State Dept. is admitting Iranians to MIT as the knowledge you will obtain can be used to thwart our national security.

The first step in finding out if you can get financial aid is to file the FAFSA. This application will see if you are eligible for federal funds. You can file at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Most students need to be US citizens to be eligible, are you?
