I am taking it for insomnia and even 25mg can make me drowsy the whole next day. I seem to want to sleep for 16 hours when I take it. It doesn't do any good to reduce the amount because if I take enough to get to sleep that is enough to ruin the next day.Is there a certain way to take it so that you get a good night's sleep without nodding off all the next day?My Dr. says if I just take it early every night I will adjust to it and start waking up earlier?

I have the SAME symptoms. I ONLY take my Seroquel on the weekends. When I have MORE time to sleep constantly!!! LOL

Just one of those things. Taking it regularly is what I have been told to do. Just never have 6 - 8 weeks of TIME on my hands to constantly sleep to work it out and into my system!

There are other medications for insomnia. Seroquel isn't one that I would prescribe! Seroquel is a anti-psychotic medication.

Your doctor is NUTS/CRAZY! LOL Tell him to take it & see how HE feels the next day after taking it!!! LOL

You can't get rid of seroquel hangover. But you can take drugs that doesn't produce hangovers.
Zolpidem doesn't cause any hangover. Trade names are Ambien®, Stilnox®, Stilnoct®, Hypnogen® or Myslee®.
Or you can try Alprazolam (Xanax).
Lorazepam (marketed under the brand names Ativan®, Temesta®, Tavor®) is also a good choice.
Try and find the lowest possible dose. Alprazolam 0.25 is enough for most people.

It is a good idea to consult a Clinical Psychiatrist. He may find the underlying problem and treat it.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

that and just drinking alot of water will help flush out the med,, how long have you been taking it? and if it's a problem there are other sleep meds that don't do that as bad. Don't be afraid to ask your dr to just change your med.
